How Home looks from Mars…

Earth and Moon captured from Mars

This image of our home Earth and it’s satellite moon has been captured from Mars using NASA’s HiRISE camera on October 3, 2007. We were 142 million kilometers away from Mars when this picture was clicked. Slightly less than half of Earth’s (and moon’s) disk is imaged here. Full disk view is possible only when we are on the opposite side of the Sun from Mars, but that diminishes the resolution as the range becomes comparatively greater.
