Infatuation and Romance in the Cosmos…

Two Interacting Galaxies

Love is in the air!!
Love is everywhere!!

🙂 These are two interacting Galaxies in the Constellation of Leo, captured by Hubble Telescope in February 2007. The way sometimes it happens that in the journey of our life we meet some people, get attracted to, fall in love… Well, this is almost the same thing happening there. Just that the attraction is not emotional but Gravitational Attraction. These two deeply-in-love galaxies passed each other some 200 million years ago and the gravity (or the charm, if we were talking about humans) of the Galaxy in the left (NGC3808B) drew matters from the galaxy in the right (NGC3808A). Behaving as if it is extending an arm to wrap the charmer, NGC3808A responded back. As a tribute to their love (or for the convenience of the astronomers), we call this Romeo-Juliet-pair of Cosmos by a single name – ‘Arp 87’!
